Love from the Afterlife

It's about the idea that our loved ones are always with us, never truly gone, just existing in a different form, in a realm filled with love and peace.

A song that plays at just the right moment, a sudden fragrance of flowers they loved, or dreams where they visit, vivid and reassuring. These moments, they're like soft taps on the shoulder from our loved ones, saying, "I’m here, and all is well."

And so, it is with that in mind, that I would like to share with you a little story, that has stayed close to my heart over the years.

Some time ago, not long after my dear husband passed, I found myself wandering through the quiet of my bookshop late one evening, feeling rather low. As I dusted the shelves, my hand brushed against a small, old book—a collection of poems that he and I cherished in our early days together. It had been misplaced for years, or so I thought.

Just as I opened the book, a breeze fluttered through the room, though the windows were closed and the night was still. With it came the faintest scent of violets—my favourite. There was no logical explanation for it, but in that moment, I felt a warmth, a sureness that he was right there with me, comforting me, reminding me of our everlasting bond.

This experience, small yet profound, reassured me that love truly transcends the boundaries of life and death. It's a gentle nudge from the universe that our loved ones are never really gone; they continue to guide us, to inspire us, and to watch over us with love from the afterlife. Such moments are gifts, I feel. Sweet reminders that we are all connected, always and forever.
