Welcome to Miss Sophia Books
Miss Sophia Books is intended to be a haven — inspired by the charm of a beloved old bookshop nestled in the English countryside.
You’ll meet Miss Sophia throughout many of the stories shared here — not just as a character, but as a gentle guide. She is the kind of person we all wish we had nearby: loving, thoughtful, endlessly wise, and always ready with just the right book or word when it’s needed most.
Much like the bookshop she lovingly tends in the stories, Miss Sophia Books is a place to pause, to reflect, and to breathe in the beauty of words that bring clarity, comfort, and meaning.
Every visit is an invitation to reconnect — with yourself, with timeless wisdom, and with the deeper story quietly unfolding in your own life.
About the Author
Paul Isherwood is the writer behind Miss Sophia Books. At 23, he stepped away from the life he was expected to live and set out in search of something more meaningful — a journey that began over thirty years ago and continues to shape his writing today. Along the way, he explored different countries, teachings, and inner questions, ultimately discovering that life is not random — and that peace, purpose, and joy are already within us, waiting to be remembered.
Paul’s writing blends gentle storytelling with timeless insight, drawing on spiritual traditions, personal experience, and the quiet voice that speaks when we slow down and listen.
Through the character of Miss Sophia — a loving, wise figure who appears throughout many of his stories — Paul offers comfort, clarity, and a sense of home to those navigating the complexities of modern life.
His mission is simple: to create stories that uplift, share wisdom that feels accessible, and gently remind readers of the light already within them.
